Students from years 7 and 8 were most excited about receiving their free Book Buzz books! They selected some amazing books including the following:
The very popular Animal Antics which is all about the silly things that animals do!
D-Day Dog. This is set on the Normandy beaches and is about a schoolboy's search for what happened to a soldier and his dog.
The Funny Life of Teachers which is a snapshot of silly stories from teachers.
Wonderscape: packed full of puzzles and mysteries!
Investi-gators: Again, this was a very popular book, and it is all about Alligator investigators. It has a lot of silly puns and illustrations.
Other books included: When Life Gives You Mangoes, Survival in Space and Rat!
We have spare copies of all these books, and students can also borrow any of these (from our newly stocked library) to take home and read.
'Bookbuzz is a reading programme from Book Trust that aims to help schools inspire a love of reading in 11 to 13-year-olds. Participating schools give their students the opportunity to choose their own book to take home and keep from a list of 17 titles. They are all carefully selected by a panel of experts to ensure quality, suitability and to encourage reading for pleasure.'
